Mount Motorcycles is a secluded and private motorcycle resort in the mountains of southeast West Virginia, opening August 8th, 2015. We are located just inside the Virginia line, in the Alleghenies portion of the Appalachian Range. Our resort is open on weekends and is not open to the general public. However, anyone can easily become a member and take advantage of our wonderful riding opportunities and atmosphere. Club members will have the opportunity to stay and ride here on a reservation basis.
Our number one goal is to be sustainable. In order to do that, we must do several things consistently:
- remain affordable and warm to our guests
- maintain our trails and protect the environment
- maintain good relationships with our neighbors
- keep a strictly controlled environment. Safety first, quality second, simplicity third.
- be inclusive and welcoming to many types of motorcyclists
- share the best of the Appalachians with all of our guests
Our 500 acre private property is strategically located alongside U.S. Rt. 219, which is the preferred through-route for long distance riders heading south from Canada to the Great Smoky Mountains. Our little moto village is a short 3 miles from the Jefferson National Forest, with access to the George Washington and Monongahela National Forests. Collectively, the three public lands offer hundreds of miles of scenic Forest Service roads and mountain vistas. Rivers, streams, and wildlife are abundant in our neck of the woods. Our resort offers prime off-road terrain, as well as easy access to world class road routes. Whether you ride strictly off-road, strictly on, or a combination of both…we have you covered. Our target clients are those who seek a highly specialized motorcycle experience through wide open spaces, topped off with relaxing and simplistic lodging. This truly is Wild and Wonderful West Virginia at its finest.
Our atmosphere is a pleasant mix of gnarl and solitude…absent from big crowds, ATVs, and Side by Sides. As our name suggests, we have designed the resort solely around the needs of THE MOTORCYCLIST. We strongly believe that our resort will help to strengthen the sport that is so dear to us all, and that is our main motivation. If you enjoy white knuckle riding and peaceful mountain vistas, then you’ll fit in nicely up here. If you prefer a more laid back ride, we have plenty of that, too.
As for the staff at Mt Moto, we are passionate enthusiasts that just love bikes. We’ve been in the motorcycle industry for the better part of 15 years, listening closely to the needs and wants of riders like us. We consider our duty as “being on the front lines of the sport”, and we love the fact that our job requires us to ride nearly every day.
Our crew is extremely proud of our state’s steadfast commitment to the off-road culture. Here in WV, our people embrace all types of motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts. As a matter of fact, we have one of the highest percentages of “riders per capita” in the United States. In a time when our sport is losing legal off-road riding areas at an alarming rate, you can rest assured that we are not participating in that trend here in West Virginia. The famous Hatfield-McCoy Trail System put WV on the map, continues to grow, and is one of the leading destinations in America for ATV and UTV enthusiasts. They proved the theory of “build it and they will come”, and it is our goal to become a similar beacon for hard-core motorcyclists.
We hope you will come to Mt. Motorcycles and see for yourself!
